The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Industries, Commerce, Labour and Technical Education, Bakht Baidar Khan handed over a cheque of Rs. 50 million as grant-in-aid for the establishment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade, to the member of the board and president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Dr. Muhammad Yousaf Sarwer on behalf of the Industries Department.
Representatives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce, high ups of the Industries Department and other relevant officers were present on the occasion. The minister stated that the provincial government was giving importance to the industrial development which it took a preliminary for facing the challenges of economic backwardness of the province. He said when the industrialists became stable economically they would help a lot in bringing the country out of the economic crisis.
The minister industries regretted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing a big problem of unemployment and the government was trying to take industries towards development. He said the education was also the most important factor in getting the issue of joblessness reduced. He said when the youth were educated they would get better jobs especially in the industrial sector and that was why the industrial sector would go on a head of further development.
The minister said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was replete with natural resources particularly gas in Kohat and water resources for hydel projects in the northern districts. He said all efforts were being utilized for the better exploration and utilization of the natural resources and the government was trying its level best to develop the industrial sector as well.
