Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Energy & Power Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao Friday visited site of Machai Hydro Power project and examined the pace of work.
Managing Director PHYDO Bahader Shah and project director briefed the minister regarding the project and informed that on completion of 2.6 mega watt power generation project, the project would get 14 million units electricity annually.
It was informed that the project would cost Rs. 683.50 million and to be completed within 24 months.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister directed officials concerned to expedite work on the project and ensure to complete it within stipulated time.
He viewed the province is facing emergency like situation and such project would enable to overcome the energy crisis.
The minister said Machai Hydro power project is evident of the fact that KP province has enough potential in power generation sector and successful execution of it would attract foreign investor in invest in this sector, he remarked.
